Directions
The String of Pearls Institute is housed in the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA) building adjacent to the Amsterdam Medical Centre (AMC) in south-east Amsterdam.
By public transport
• Our offices are within walking distance of Holendrecht railway and metro station.
• From Amsterdam Centraal, Amsterdam Amstel or Duivendrecht station, take metro line 54 towards Gein.
• From Amsterdam Zuid or Amsterdam Sloterdijk station, take metro line 50 towards Gein.
• From Utrecht Centraal station, take a local “Sprinter” train towards Amsterdam Centraal (fast trains do not call at Holendrecht).
• Local buses 29, 59, 61, 120, 126, 137 and 158 also pass Holendrecht station.
• From the station, head first towards the AMC and then follow the signs for “Hogeschool van Amsterdam”.

By car
From the east (Hilversum and Amersfoort)
• Take motorway A1 towards Amsterdam.
• At the A1/A9 interchange, follow “A’dam-Zuidoost/Haarlem” (A9).
• Leave the motorway at “afrit 3”, for “Zuidoost/AMC” (S111). At the traffic lights, turn left into Muntbergweg (towards “AMC/Gaasperdam”).
• At the second set of traffic lights after this, turn right into Meibergdreef (towards “Utrecht/Haarlem”)
• At the next traffic lights, turn left into Tafelbergweg (towards “Abcoude”).
• After approximately 1300 metres, turn left into the Hogeschool van Amsterdam car park.
From the south (Utrecht)
• Take motorway A2 towards Amsterdam.
• At the A2/A9 interchange, follow “AMC/Zuidoost” (S111) to leave the motorway at “afrit 2”.
• At the traffic lights, turn right into Tafelbergweg (towards “Abcoude”).
• After approximately 1300 metres, turn left into the Hogeschool van Amsterdam car park.
From the west (Haarlem, The Hague and Schiphol Airport)
• From Haarlem, take motorway A9 towards Utrecht. From The Hague or Schiphol Airport, take motorway A4 towards Amsterdam and then join the A9 towards Utrecht.
• At the A9/A2 interchange, first follow “Amsterdam/Amersfoort/Almere” (A9) and then “AMC/Zuidoost” (S111) to leave the motorway at “afrit 2”.
• At the traffic lights, turn right into Tafelbergweg (towards “Abcoude”).
• After approximately 1300 metres, turn left into the Hogeschool van Amsterdam car park.
